Today is Bike to Work Day. Although eco-friendly and fun, it's important to know how to keep yourself safe no matter where you're riding, whether on the busy streets of downtown or through one of our properties. Here are some helpful tips: https://bit.ly/3IiYEcX #BTWD #BikeSafety

In the early morning of May 29, 1914, the Canadian Pacific ocean liner Empress of Ireland was struck by a Norwegian coal boat and disappeared into the waters of the St. Lawrence River. Aboard the Empress of Ireland were 192 Salvation Army personnel on their way to the Army’s World Congress in London, England. In 1916, a monument designed by Salvation Army Major Gideon Miller and sculpted by Emanuel Hahn was unveiled in a special Salvation Army plot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. It was dedicated to those Salvationists who lost their lives. #EmpressOfIreland #TorontoHistory #TorontoArchives #MountPleasantCemetery #MountPleasantGroup #SalvationArmyToronto

#DYK Pancake Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, and Mardi Gras are all the same day? The eating of rich food on the last day before Ash Wednesday. Which is the beginning of the Christian observance of Lent. Pancakes are often the meal of choice at community breakfasts at the start of the day, here is a recipe if you'd like to take part. https://www.allrecipes.com//2/good-old-fashioned-pancakes/
