WIN on Fun Fact Friday! Like and share our page :) FUN FACT: It's National Nacho Day!! Nachos originated in the city of Piedras Negras, Mexico in 1943. The wives of US soldiers arrived at a restaurant called the Victory club after it had closed for the day. The maitre d’ Ignacio nacho Anaya, couldn't turn them away so he used what little he had available in the kitchen: tortillas and cheese. He cut the tortillas into triangles, added cheddar cheese, and sliced jalapeno. ...He then served the dish calling it Nachos especiales! The ladies loved it. Today, nachos is the food most craved by pregnant women in North America!! Like and share our page, tell us where you get your favourite nachos and enter for a chance to win a gift card to a downtown restaurant! #buylocal #lovestj #SJCC #lovenachos #yyt #DSJ

WELCOME TO FUN FACT FRIDAY! Like and share our page and post and show us your Jack o Lantern and be entered to win a gift card for Freak Lunch Box! Fun Fact: Legend says Stingy Jack invited the devil to have a drink with him, but Jack didn't want to pay for the drink, so he tricked the devil and convinced the devil to turn himself into a coin. Instead of buying the drink, he pocketed the coin and kept it close to a silver cross in his house, preventing the devil from taking s...hape again. He promised to let the devil go as long as he would not claim Jacks soul when he died. When Jack died, God didn't want such a conniving person in heaven and the devil, true to his word, would not allow him into hell. Jack was sent off into the night with only a burning coal to light his path. He placed the coal inside a carved-out turnip and has been roaming the earth ever since. People in Ireland and Scotland began creating their own creations of Jack's lanterns out of turnips, beets and potatoes. The tradition traveled to Canada along with the immigrants and people began to use pumpkins, native to North America, for the lanterns instead. See more
