When looking for a Castille Soap heres some things to bare in mind. A genuine Castille soap contains 100% Olive oil exclusively, although some makers believe that a soap can be classed as a Castille if it contains any amount of olive oil and many companies use the name Castille on their products even if there is no olive oil at all in them!!

Our Fractionated Coconut Oil does not go solid at room temperature, it remains a crystal clear liquid. It is a stable oil with a very long shelf life. Coconut oil penetrates the skin easily making it a great choice as a carrier oil for applying essential oils to the skin. Use Coconut Oil as a make up remover, moisturizing body oil, bath oil, cuticle treatment or to condition the ends of your hair.

F is for Friday and Frankincense. Heres what our aromatherapist has to say about this wonderful essential oil. "Frankincense essential oil is obtained from the dried and distilled resin of the Frankincense tree, which is native to specific regions of Africa and the Middle East.... This is an amazingly versatile oil, with uses as diverse as skincare, respiratory aid, mental health support and healing to name just a few. A word of caution though - Frankincense is not for everyone. Frankincense has blood thinning properties so it should be avoided if you have a blood clotting disorder or are on blood thinning medication. Pregnant women should also avoid this oil."

"Why is my soap sweating?" Sometimes in humid weather (or if there is a rapid change in the temperature surrounding your soap), you may feel moisture on the surface of your soap - so whats going on? No - there is nothing wrong with your soap.... No - Your soap is not melting No - nothing is leaking out of your soap No - it will not damage your soap Good quality, handmade soap contains lots of naturally occurring glycerin - its a normal bi-product of the soap making process. That lovely glycerin is one of the reasons the soap feels so wonderful for your skin and it works by attracting moisture to your skin. When the air contains lots of moisture, the glycerin in the soap attracts moisture out of the air and on to the surface of your soap. Simply give it a wipe and set your soap somewhere dry and cool away from direct sunlight and your soap will be just fine.

Of course our number one priority is still to keep everyone safe and so Covid protocols are in place. We ask that you try not to touch items unnecessarily - if you do pick things up that you are not purchasing we have a container for you to drop them so they can be cleaned.
