It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our friend and colleague, Marie-Catherine Bruno. She was a member of The Sole Mate team in Vernon for 14 years helping many types of patients, athletes, children and seniors. Murray Wood has been working alongside Marie-Catherine at The Sole Mate for 4 years and they have been colleagues in the pedorthics world for 15 years. Creating custom orthotics and modification to footwear for over 35 years, Murray brings a... wealth of knowledge to our team. The Sole Mate tradition of improving stability, balance and mobility for all patients through foot orthoses and exercise will continue. We look forward to helping you with your foot care needs. Winter is just around the corner!! Now wed like you to know that we dont normally test ski boots on the treadmill but Seth wants to use his for ski touring as well so we cranked up the treadmill to a 12% incline and had him climb the Everest Start thinking skiing and boarding now!!

Our new colors for the Fall are in! We have medical grade compression socks for your tired legs, varicose veins, bunions, plantar fascia and even for bony feet! And bonus, theyre not made like grannys stretchy beige nylon ones, theyre actually a soft bamboo and merino wool blend. Come take a look :-)

We would like to thank all of our customers who have left us positive reviews and testimonials in the past. Unfortunately we have to hide them all and remove the ones on our web page due to regulations with our College of Pedorthics. It would appear that great reviews could endanger the public... Thank you again and even if they are "hidden", we know who you are and were touched by every single one of them

Its "lift" Thursday! (a lift is used when someone has a leg length discrepancy). These are so cute that even Harry the Bony Foot tried to squeeze his long toes into one of them. Sorry Harry but these belong to a lovely young lady - paw out!!!

Our friends "down the road" are hosting an informative evening about plantar fasciitis and will have Dr. Colin Dombroski as a guest speaker. Colin has written a book on plantar fasciitis and has also developed a special sock to help treat it. We figure he knows a thing or two about it so well happily go listen to him. Join us there! Were super proud of Nick who got accepted into the physio program this semester! However it also means we need to fill his orthotics ;-) So if you know of anyone looking for a part time job (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) - fairly flexible hours - then please get in touch with us! That person is a self-motivated team member having the flexibilty to perform office duties and laboratory preparatory work. ... They are willing to be trained. A working knowledge of MS Office is required. Familiarity with Quickbooks would be an asset. A pleasant manner and good listening skills are also needed when interacting with clients - both at reception desk and on the telephone - to address their questions and concerns. Another beautiful job by Murray: a 1cm lift on this walking shoe. You can barely tell :-) Lifts are used to help reduce leg length discrepancy - but I suppose if you wanted to be taller we could put one on both your shoes ;-) Come see us with your new summer shoes!!

Heres Murray on his latest adventure: teaching a level I xc. Sometimes when were not in the office were not necessarily on holidays.... as a matter of fact, were usually not on holidays! Could you tell at first glance that this shoe has been modified? Murray added a 7.5mm lift for a young patient who has a shorter leg. We think shell be happy :-)

Today our oldest patient came for a visit: 99 years of age, turning 100 this year!! She parked her walker at the bottom of the stairs, came up on her own and didnt even complaint about the stairs! What an inspiration! We wanna be like you when we grow up :-)
