The Tin Fiddler 28.01.2021

Well, today was meant to be the day you’d be back sat at your favourite bar after the holidays. But as we’ve all learned this year, things can change very, very quickly. We don’t need to get into the nitty-gritty of what’s happened in the last few weeks, and as always we’re not here to give any opinions or provoke any conflict (there’s already more than enough of that on the internet). We’re just here to let you know what we’re up to - which, for the next few weeks, will be... lying pretty low. Same as the last lockdown, we’ve chosen not to move forward with any takeout at this time. We’ll be taking these next few weeks to rest, reset, and do some updates around the building - and hopefully come back to you guys better than ever. Our brains are already spinning with ideas for how to make the spring and upcoming patio season the best yet, and are so stoked for you guys to see what we’ve come up with. But until then! Shop local, support small businesses, stay home when it's possible - and wash ya damn hands. (This post is giving us mega deja vu).

And, just like that - it’s our final weekend of 2020. Our holiday hours will be starting a little bit early this year, coming into effect on Monday. Which makes this Friday, Saturday, Sunday our very last of this insane year! How the hell did that happen so fast? But also so slow? ... We were going to go into a long never-ending spiel about what a year its been, but it seems safe to say that we’ve all been on the same rollercoaster, so you know already know how we feel. We want to say an extra massive thank you to each and every one of you for spending your time with this year, and coming out to support us when we needed it most. We really won’t ever be able to say thank you enough times. (Seriously, it would probably take us going on and on until 2022 until we felt like we had said it enough) Come celebrate the holidays with us this weekend. Have your last river run pint of the year, give us some socially-distanced air hugs goodbye, and lets close out this year the right way

Incase you missed it WE GOT MERCH Something that’s been on our bucket list since the day we opened - and since we’re a team full of procrastinators, we’re rolling with the whole better late than never concept on this one. ... To celebrate the launch of our new gear, and to celebrate the great dude that helped us design them - for the rest of the weekend a portion of all of our merchandise sales will be going directly to BlueWater Tattoo to try and help recoup even a little bit of the damage from their recent break in. Downtown is such an important, close-knit little community, and watching a friend’s business take an extra hit on top of this already impossible year, is the definition of getting kicked when you’re already down. Not interested in buying any merchandise, but still want to give some support? Don’t worry, we’ve added a donations button to our online store as well - a super easy and quick way to give back to a small business that’s brought so much to our little downtown community. Now let’s all show Cam & Kelly how much we love em. Click the link in the comments to shop!

You know when you skim an email, and you know you ~should~ double check that you caught everything, but you feel super confident about it so you don’t? Yaa... we did that. But now, we have the Fancy Oops Bread! (Which is most definitely not a flatbread.... apparently) ... Fresh bread made daily in-house topped with grana padano cheese, butter, truffle salt, rosemary & thyme, served with roasted red pepper sauce for dipping. It’s a carb-lovers dream, and a proof readers nightmare.

Tis the friggin season Our Holiday menu is HERE! Starting tomorrow, we’ve got new food & cocktails for you to try. A few oldies from last year and a few new favs! The most exciting part? $1.00 from every single item sold off of this menu will be going directly to Women's Interval Home of Sarnia Lambton this year. Being a team filled with some very badass women, their organization is very close to home for us - and we couldn’t be more excited to be able to give back a litt...le bit. Charity isn’t hard when the drinks are this good. So good, that you don’t even have to feel guilty when you wanna double fist em. (Or triple fist, if you’re in the pro-league like us. See picture for proof^)

This is Joey - Joey sits down to drink while he’s at the bar. When Joey gets up, he puts his mask on. Even though Joey sees some friends on the other end of the bar, he stays in his seat because he knows that’s the rule.... Joey understands that even though sometimes the rules don’t make sense, that bars in Ontario still have to follow them. And its super not cool to give the staff a hard time just because you don’t agree with them. #BeLikeJoey

hey babe, you look like you could use a Hey Babe. This cutie cocktail is a tart & sweet blend of rum, mango, grapefruit, and green tea ~ and is named after all our favourite bartenders here who seem to be unable to call anybody, anything other than babe. Seriously, at this point we think they’ve just forgotten our names and are too afraid to tell us.
