The oil most commonly used is our massage oil by Nezza Naturals, they are locally based downtown! The one we use during our treatments is basic and unscented, perfect for almost all clients :) It is of upmost importance that the recovery and health of our patients is taken care of. This is always a team effort between our patients and the therapists. We do our part and throw in a little extra with these lovely oils. They will provide you with a better massage and an increase in relaxation in the environment That’s just how we do it here :)

Heat vs Cold Wondering if you should ice that injury or heat up the heating pad to treat it? These helpful tips will help you decide which hydrotherapy tool is right for you! Rule of thumb: HEAT is for muscles + COLD is for injuries, however you can use whichever feels best for you and your body!... HEAT What it does: Heat promotes muscle relaxation and can increase range of motion. It also helps to open blood vessels to increase blood flow. When to use it: Heat is a great way to help loosen up tight joints and tight muscles. It is also a good method of pain relief for tension headaches and other chronic conditions. Helpful Tips: Treat for no longer than 20 minutes at a time Never lie on a hot pack to avoid falling asleep and potentially burning yourself Do not use heat if there is any swelling or bruising Don’t apply heat directly to the skin Wait 1 hour in between heat treatments COLD What it does: Ice calms down damaged tissue and slows down the blood flow to an injury to reduce swelling, inflammation and controls the pain. When to use it: Ice can be used right after an injury or activity that aggravates a chronic condition. Ice can be good for migraine headaches, sprains, and strains. Helpful Tips: Treat for no longer than 20 minutes at a time Check skin every 5 minutes to make sure there is no damage, such as freezer burn (skin would become red or blistered) Don’t apply ice directly to the skin Wait 1 hour in between cold treatments
