Before COVID, Leslie had a very regular weekly Pilates routine at the Club. And then everything changed... After struggling to find her sweet spot, she reconnected with Marvin and they began their virtual Pilates training! COVID disrupted my weekly Pilates routine, and while I tried several different websites to continue training, I never felt I got a full workout. I started Virtual Training sessions with Marvin about a month ago and find I get a lot more out of my sessions ...with him. He is helping me to coax my body back into Pilates fighting shape by targeting my weaker areas and building strength so I have the confidence to push myself harder. I feel much better after every workout and have more energy to tackle the week. In the absence of face to face training, Virtual Training is the next best thing. After everything came to a crashing halt in March, William began to realize that the missed trips to the Club were starting to wear on his health and fitness. So, he reached out to Director of Personal Training and all around superstar Lauren Fernandes, to see how she could help him from home. And, thus, their virtual personal training journey began "After some trial and error with cameras and finding tools to create resistance, we started our VPT journey. Both of us wer...e unsure how it was going to work at the beginning, as I live in a small, downtown condo and had no training equipment, other than an old yoga mat. Almost six months later, I am proud to say I have been working out with Lauren consistently and virtually twice a week throughout my experience of working from home. Without our scheduled workout times, I would undoubtedly fail to prioritize time for fitness. During our time on camera together, we do a variety of comprehensive workouts, which include resistance training and cardio, using video-conference features of our computers, together with a towel, one set of dumbbells, a chair and, of course, my old yoga mat. The workouts are productive, hard, and fun! Virtual personal training has been essential to my general health, both physical and mental, during this time of working from home, and I highly recommend it. Although I look forward to returning to the gym, I plan to continue with virtual personal training while working from home.
