FREE firewood program! White spruce. In the back alley behind 152 Front St. Emo. Come and get it!
This red pine with rot at the base, overhanging a dock and boat was 30" at the base. Along with the lean and the huge branches, made for some interesting rigging!
Today's removals, a white pine with blister rust, another with a previous top failure, and a leaning birch. Fall is a great time to get rid of those trees whose time has come!
Todays removals, a white pine with blister rust, another with a previous top failure, and a leaning birch. Fall is a great time to get rid of those trees whose time has come!
The last stem! A bit of risky business on this one...
Big old willow over fence and play structure taken down and processed over the last couple days! This one was ready to go. Also nipped an ash leaning on a utility line on this property. Nice days for tree work!
Two days of pine removals. One big leaner over a cabin + 2 deadwooded one day. Three overtop of a deck the next (+1 further back)!
Incredible opportunity to work on what has to be one the biggest/oldest silver maples in Fort Frances. Certainly, this is the biggest tree Ive seen here in town and a majestic specimen indeed. The "small" stem with a rot pocket that we removed because it was overhanging the garage was approx 2 diameter, making the whole tree itself at least 8. Canopy spreading over three yards and a back lane, probably 70 at the highest. Amazing. Two beautiful days in this tree that i will always remember, not least for the challenging rigging. Hope it can stay around for a while yet!
Big half-dead silver maple removal yesterday!
Big white pine growing through deck and leaning over roof brought down today! Lots of long limbs that needed careful rigging, and a chance to practice my shotput at the end! "Dont hit the deck!"
Roof clearance prune and a huge dead and rotten stem removed on these basswoods today. Good timing, in this arborists opinion - it was a big sponge!
Some light MB maple clearance pruning today!

Some before and afters of pruning and removals at a riverside property this week! Working through this heat wave slow and steady... For the trees!
Some work at a property in Emo these last couple days. 1 nasty MB maple that presented a technical rigging challenge! 2 cedars crowding the eaves! Aaaand 1 basswood with root plate issues (we observed significant movement during a pull test ). All down and gone and 1 new plant holder for the customer!
Removing dead wood is a great way to reduce the risk associated with a tree and establish a landmark for monitoring future decline. Dead wood is unpredictable and can fail at any time. Here is a big oak we removed major dead wood from last week. 1 of 8 trees dead wooded on this property over two days!
Some ornamental pruning was a nice change of pace to start the week!
Cat rescue today for a change of pace! Poor little "Woof" got stuck way up in this basswood for three days! But he was very friendly and climbed right into his carrier when I went to get him. Great to be able to help a fellow climber in need!
Big MB maple over roof, deck and wires (and with a bad Caterpillar problem) down and gone! New spot for the trampoline!
Some dead, leaning elms in rigged down in the heat!
Major prune on this MB Maple today. A windy one!
Tricky removal of split ash tree over roof last week. Beautiful day and got to try out some nifty rigging.
Leaning ash with a bad rot pocket reduced to a stump today - wildlife tree and future play structure support!

Structural prune to mitigate risk from a bad branch union on this silver maple. Beware of cracks in the stem of your trees!
Had a wonderful time on Rest Island on Rainy Lake today! A big, dead red pine was the task! Down safe and a beautiful day on the water. Love to get out on the lake! If you need tree care at your cabin property, call The Tree Guide (Jordan Baird) 807 630 9435
A couple excerpts from the removal. Smooth rigging - space for some big limbs!
Great day out west! Oak Grove Dr. near Rainy River. One sizable rigging takedown and a bit of deadwooding/structural pruning. Oak grove earned its name! Beautiful spot!
