We had a great Handtool Bootcamp yesterday... makers at the very beginning of the journey into hand tool woodworking. Always an amazing day full of individuals getting inspired. We have lots of one day classes coming up this Fall semester. Of course all of the tools are cleaned after every class, everyone wears a mask while they’re here, and you’re six feet away from the next bench. Hand tool woodworking is not only good for your body with proper stretching and technique, but... during these times I think it’s even better for the mind. This week Kris, one of the Residents here at the Woodshop, made this oak and walnut Sushi board using a handful of really useful hand tools and techniques! It’s such a beautiful project to make by hand, we decided to offer this as a very limited, three day intensive next month. It’s happening on October 7th, 8th and 9th. Our neighbours are borrowing our sidewalk space when classes are done to utilize warm weather limited spaces.
