I like to pride myself on being a very positive person, but man oh man... I’ve been struggling a little with it lately! When I find myself going down the rabbit hole and turn moody, I love to watch funny videos or turn on the most upbeat music I can think of and sing my little heart out. Dancing around my house, sometimes I’ll clean while I do it, or I’ll do every bad dance move known to man. Do whatever makes you happy when you’re feeling down and moody. Productivity tips for working at home With a lot of companies practicing #socialdistancing people are working from home that normally don’t. I thought I’d share some of my favourite work at home practices! Plan out your day... I love to do lists. They make me so happy, and makes it so I know what I need to get done without losing precious time wracking my brain on what needs to get done first. Pretend like you’re going into the office One of the perks about working from home is you get to stay in your comfy clothes, no make up, hair a mess, and still get work done. However, doing that can really affect your productivity. You would be surprised how just getting dressed in something that makes you happy and doing your hair will help! Work when you’re at your most productive We all work best at different times of the day. Even though I’m not a morning person, I work the best as soon as I get up. Also, take your breaks when you need them! I like to completely remove myself from my work space by going for a run or the gym. It takes my mind off work, and when I come back I feel energized again! Match your music to the tasks you’re doing Let’s face it, music is the answer to everything! I love listening to music that matches my projects. It helps my creative juices flow, and honestly just makes me a happier worker bee! What are some of your favourite practices you use while working at home?

When you buy from a small business an actual person does a serious happy dance! Shopping local for me used to be going out on a nice day and browsing some shops with friends on the weekend. I loved it, but at the same time, I didn’t think about it any more than that. The older I got, the more I came to realize how much dedication, passion, and HARD work it was to own a small business. ... I started to pay attention, I stopped and asked how they got started. I wanted to know their why. Listening to everything they’ve done to get there and how passionate they are about their craft really inspired me. I went from shopping local for something to do on the weekends to seeking them out and supporting actual people, not only in my community, but every small business owner I came across. Supporting a small business means supporting their dreams! How can you beat that? It’s not going to a corporation, but to someone you can interact with and know you’re helping them support themselves and their family. I have a whole new respect for small businesses the older, and I think wiser, I got. Now I have my own small business, and I know first hand the dedication, passion, and HARD work all the business owners before me have gone, and continue, to go through. Shop local.
