Who we are: a new and growing vision therapy and optometry clinic that ...operates as a dedicated centre for those seeking to enhance or rehabilitate the quality and function of their vision. Our patient base is a mix of students struggling with reading or classroom performance, those suffering visual impact as a result of traumatic brain injury (i.e. concussion) and routine optometric care - no day is ever the same! We are passionate about educating anyone who will listen that vision is more than the ability to see 20/20! As a vision therapist, you will provide high quality vision therapy and rehabilitation one-on-one to our patients. Together with the team, you will create and administer treatment plans designed to teach patients how to accurately use their visual system to become efficient learners and recover from injury. You will constantly be evaluating the results of therapy by observing, noting, and gauging patient’s progress, implementing adjustments and modifications as needed. Other responsibilities will be to assist in writing reports, performing standardized testing, and help with other clinic duties as needed. Learn more about what we do here: www.thevisiondevelopmentcentre.com Ideal candidate qualities: Strong aptitude for learning and motivated to self-learn Outgoing and enjoys working with people (particularly kids) Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Quick learner and quick thinker Instinctively empathetic, with a people-oriented disposition Strong ability to problem solve and summarize thoughts, ideas, and concepts effectively Assets: Experience in the education or medical field (eg. rehabilitation, optometry, psychology, etc.).
