A big thank you to everyone that came out to support us tonight. Another truck load of food plus $580 in donations for the food bank!

The Waterford Lions came together on Saturday to help the Waterford Chamber of Commerce bring some Christmas spirit to town! We ran a super successful food drive at the same time. If you missed the Food Drive, join us starting at 5:30 on either Thursday December 3rd or December 10th to donate your non perishable food items. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The Waterford Lions want to say a big thank you to everyone that helped us have a successful bottle drive. It was awesome to see the all the support. We wanted to give a special thanks to John at Foodland for letting us use the space and providing us with hand sanitizer. Also to Jen Welsh for donating gloves and to Waterford Minor Hockey for the use of their advertising sign! 100% of the funds raised will go back to community projects and needs. ... We are doing another one on July 11th and look forward to seeing you all again! THANK YOU!!

We are doing a bottle drive! Please either take your empties to the Waterford Bottle return between now and May 30th(and ask them to donate the funds to the Waterford Lions) or bring out your refundable bottles and cans to the Waterford Foodland parking lot on May 30th between 10 and 2! Attention High School Students, The Waterford Lions want to sponsor a high school student from our community to participate in the Lions Youth Exchange Program. We are presently looking for high school students from Waterford who would be interested in this exciting opportunity. Are you 16 -19 and are you ready to embark on a life changing adventure that will open your mind and heart? Are you curious about other cultures and ways of life? Do you want to develop your skills... in a second language? Would you like to cultivate new friendships with individuals that have different backgrounds, beliefs, and customs than you? The Lions Camps and Exchange (YCE) Program may be the opportunity you are seeking. We lost a great Lion this week. Bob joined the Waterford Lions in 1972 and served as secretary and in other roles over the years. He was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship in 1994 and was integral to our yearly Skate-a-thon. He was the type of man that stepped up to help every chance he was given. Tonight The Lions Club of Waterford was proud to present Lion Bordan Tchegus with a Melvin Jones Fellowship. Lion Bordan joined the Lions Club of Waterford in the year 2000 and was sponsored by another great past Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow, Lion Peter Schira. Lion Bordan has served tirelessly within our club and beyond. He has been Club President twice, First in 2009 and again in 2018, Zone Chair in 2014 and Region Chair in 2015. He is currently in his second term as R...egion A2 Camp Trillum chair. Bordan is one of the founders of our Skate-a-Thon and key to many of the projects which our club works on. He has a true passion to help the community and is always one of the first people to step up and help with any project we take on. In 1973, the Melvin Jones Fellowship program was established in the name of the founder of Lions Clubs International. It is the highest recognition from the Lions Club International Foundation. The Melvin Jones Fellowship is an international award and is given to Lions who represent humanitarian qualities such as generousity, compassion and concern for the less fortunate and outstanding community service. The names of all recipients of a Melvin Jones Fellowship award on on display in the LCIF room at the International Headquarters.
