Friday, Inn Proprietor, JJ lead a team of staff on a nature hike on the business's Trout Lake Preserve to collect some authentic winter decor for the Inn. The staff really enjoyed the "bush" experience and warmed up with some hot chocolate later. It was an awesome turn out! #workfamily

Let's talk desks and goats. Tumaini Afrika SSM helps children in Kenyan slums get a proper education, and supports family health and economy. So how? Kids in Kenya have to pay to go to school, which is not achievable for many families. There are groups who offer free education to impoverished kids...but they just don't have the funding to provide a proper environment. Tumaini supports Compass School by helping with repairs to desks and classrooms, donating learning materials ...and supporting a daily meal program (often the only meal of the day). GOATS - a family goat gives nourishment to the family and perhaps a little money from the sale of its milk or cheese. In addition, they have a fairly long lifespan and will eat anything. Goats are a means to greater independence. These are just two ways that Tumaini Afrika gives a hand-up to kids in Kenya. 100% of the funds they receive go to helping kids - nothing is spent on admin costs.
