We are looking for volunteers to help move ramps tonight. 7pm at the park.
We will be meeting up at 7pm in the park to get things prepped and ready to open. Please post or send us a message if you can help out.
Our next meeting will be this Thursday at 6:30 in the skate park. We may start moving ramps as well and should be making plans for working through the weekend.
Unfortunately, it is taking longer than expected to complete the floor. Once the floor is finished we have HVAC work to do and we have a mini ramp to build. The hope is to be opened by the end of the month. We will be building new features throughout the winter. That being said, we need volunteers. Within the next two weeks, we should be moving all of the ramps outside and will need some muscle. Then once the floor is refinished, we will need help to move all of the ramps... inside and to build. Once we are ready to open, we need reliable volunteers to supervise. We all want to be skating this winter, but things don't happen overnight. If you're asking "When can we skate the indoor?" perhaps you should consider switching your question to "How can I help get the park ready?" Dates for work parties and open meetings will be posted both here and on the Friends of the Castlegar Skatepark site. Hope to see some of you out this month and hopefully the snow doesn't start anytime soon.
We're working on it...
Don't forget that we are meeting tomorrow to do some cleanup, hopefully some floorwork, talk some plans for the year, and whatever else we can. 1pm and on. I heard Kyle is bringing pizza... Right Kyle Johnston. Drills and skil saws or jigsaws would be helpful as well.
Work day coming up! Saturday, Sept. 12th, we will be cleaning, moving ramps around, and hopefully working on the floor. There is a lot of work to do to get ready for this winter, so if you got time come on out. We are meeting at 1pm.
