Born on March 20, 1929 in Sheffield, England and grew up in Leeds, Yorkshire. He immigrated to Canada at the age of 21. Architecture became his passion, so he passed the strenuous External Exams of the British Architectural Institute, England and soon afterwards started practicing as a registered architect in B.C. John's buildings embraced nature where he incorporated wood, soft curves, round shapes to fit into the landscape with warm colors gently fitting together.
