An article we wrote for Paralympic Games looking back at the year that was!
Our latest story from Teddy Katz out today on the International Paralympic Committee #paralympics website -check out Nate’s unique family genes.
If you look up the word resilience in the dictionary, our guest this week on the Resiliency Project might just have his name written beside it. Mike Trauner represented this country proudly when he joined the military when he was only 19. In 2008 he was deployed to Afghanistan and he was almost killed not once but twice ultimately suffering devastating injuries. After a long rehab, Mike began representing his country again this time as an athlete at the Invictus Games in Tor...onto where he won two gold medals. Mike now has his sights on competing for Canada at the Paralympics in Tokyo. With Remembrance Day this week, we're thrilled to have Mike and his wife Leah join us to share his story and the lessons we can learn about resilience. Please join us at 4 pm Eastern on the Think Redefined Facebook page, Teddy Katz You Tube channel and @skatingPj on Twitter to be inspired by the moving story of Mike Trauner and wife Leah Cuffe who has been with him every step of the way. #TheResiliencyProject
This week on #TheResiliencyProject, we are thrilled to catch up with one of the most resilient athletes we've ever come to know. Ben Thomsen is one of the last active members of the Canadian Cowboys as they were known- Canadian skiers who had some remarkable results a little over a decade ago on the World Cup. Thomsen's story is remarkable because of the way he went from having almost nothing, living in an Industrial Park, to standing on a World Cup podium.... But that is not even half the story of his resilience and lessons he's learned which continue today. Tune in this Friday at 11 am Eastern to come along for the ride. You can find us on the Think Redefined's Facebook page, the Teddy Katz YouTube channel and Pj Kwong's @skatingPj Twitter page. Bring your questions and comments and we will see you Friday!
We are happy to have you join us Ben. Can’t wait!
