Blaming so-and-so for all of your problems? Thinking so-and-so is going to fix all of your problems? Either way, you're giving away your power.

I covered this in step 8 of the Hero's Journey series, but I think I need to keep saying this...(keep your focus on the right side)...

This post is entirely related to production and not to anything spiritual - although there is certainly a spiritual element to hobbies and such - and now I'm thinking that there are some political and societal parallels here, but I'll leave those up to your imagination. The new recording/editing space is almost ready and I did set up a "new" Windows 10-based computer for the production centre - I've been using a Linux-based (Mint) system for the last year. The Linux system ha...s been great, but there were a couple of stability issues that I wanted to see if Windows would alleviate. Turns out that while Windows fixed those couple of issues, it had a few of its own that I'm not happy about. So, I set up another little test to see which system performed better - a video rendering test that I fully expected my Linux machine to lose as it had severe disadvantages: earlier generation CPU, 1/2 the RAM, integrated graphics and a standard HDD while Windows was running on an SSD. My hampered Linux system beat the Windows beast by 3 minutes. Everything was in the Windows machine's favour and it still lost! I was shocked. Just how bad is that operating system? Why do we all still use it? I'm going back to Linux as soon as my 60GB boot SSDs that I bought off eBay arrive. While I have a preference for Mint - as it's very Windows 7-like - I may give Pop OS a try for a while.
