One of my favourite things about the market is having special moments with makers + connecting with them on a deeper level. They pour so much of themselves into what they do. Market weekends are so rewarding but so exhausting. Not only are they selling product but it’s product that holds a piece of their heart. It’s an authentic reflection of who they are. Getting to share moments with them means everything to me. These are life long memories that I cherish. I have shed man...y tears with makers, had some of the best laughs and given + received some of the best hugs with them (can’t wait to have those again!). What’s in store for 2021?! 2020 was full of a lot of unexpected losses. A year full of grief, loss and simply surviving.It also brought new opportunities that would not have come to light if I was not forced to think outside the box. 2021... Hello! 2020 has been a massive season of change. With change comes adjustment, grace + growth. I'm going to do my best to give you a snap shot into what the market will look like and how tickets sales will work. There will be elements that look the same and some that don't. We ALL have opinions on how businesses should do business + different levels of comfort. Please know that I'm ONE woman trying my VERY BEST to create a safe + fun market during this NEW season. I have sp...ent weeks laying awake thinking over every scenario. My passion is to give a spot light for makers and an opportunity for shoppers to come and support them. All I ask for is grace , Pulling this market off is NO easy task. Third + Bird market has been approved by the city. Farmers Markets/ Markets are deemed essential service. The market will host 120 markers in 39,000 sq ft of space. My team is working very hard. We will have aisles that are 15, 20 and 25 feet wide. These aisles are larger than grocery stores + Costco for context. Each maker has a booth that is 10 feet or 20 feet wide. Giving you + fellow shoppers a safe and comfortable distance to shop. Timed Shopping blocks. This is to ensure we safely limit the amount of shoppers and to avoid long line ups. To be honest I can see this change being one that stays moving forward. * Please note if you come a few min before your shopping block you will have to wait in line. Once your shopping block opens you will be welcomed inside. I will be hosting the Market Oct 23, 24 + 25 at the Red River Exhibition Place. With FULL city approval, and EVERY safety protocol in place, I present you: Christmas in October! A. Happy Stix & Paper Mix is my creative outlet where I am able to make pieces that bring a smile to my face & give me the Happy feels! What inspired you to start your craft ? A. Happy Stix & Paper Mix started as an outlet to express some creativity & the desire to create & make after my first child was born.
