Kulasekara Azhwar Tirunakshatram and Sudarshana Ashtakam parayanam for loka kshemam (for Corona Virus nivarthi) Kulasekara Azhwar was born in Maasi month Purnavasu nakshatram in a village called Thiruvanchikallam in Kerala. His love for Lord Rama is unparalled and used to listen to Srimad Ramayana parayanam daily. We all know that Lord Rama worshipped Sri Ranganatha, so Lord Rama came to be known as Perumal and Lord Ranganatha is fondly known as Periya Perumal. Kulasekara azh...war wrote a prabandham on Lord Rama which is called as Perumal Tirumozhi and out of affection, Lord Rama named Kulasekara azhwar as Kulasekara Perumal (the only azhwar to be referred as a Perumal). We will pause on the regular Nalayira Divya Prabanda recitation this Saturday and will instead recite Perumal Tirumozhi. You will find this on page 101 of 527 (Pasuram 647). We will also be reciting Sudarshana Ashtakam this Saturday for loka kshemam and nivarthi from Corona Virus patients across the globe. Traditionally, this stotram is recited in homes, when some one has fever or any other illness. Swami Desikan is said to have composed it to help the residents of Tirupputkuzhi, when they suffered from the grip of an epidemic fever. We will be reciting this 28 times.
