EDIT: Still in need as of June 22. TL:DR my wife and I (both disabled) are pretty poor and we live in an incredibly dangerous living situation. We need help ge...tting out. Long version. I'm on ODSP and my wife (an American citizen currently working on immigrating to Canada) is on American Disability. We're both mentally disabled (we're both autistic and have pretty severe ptsd (both relating to domestic violence), I have major depressive disorder. I'm dyslexic. There's other mental illnesses but I'm just leaving it at this for now). We got married in November, and my check was cut due to their income (dollar for dollar, after exchange). We immediately sought out new living accommodations because we could no longer afford the ones we had. We found a room with another couple through Facebook marketplace. We found out, after moving in, that they left out a lot of really important information. They're both heavy drug addicts (cocaine and crystal meth for sure, as well as finding plenty of needles in the house (though we don't know what drugs they use needles for)). They're both incredibly abusive towards each other, with almost daily screaming matches, frequent physical violence, and threats of murder towards each other. There is an almost constant stream of drug addicts in the house, with many of them having bad episodes of drug induced behaviour. I'm leaving off a lot of the issues living here to save space, but can elaborate on the various health and safety hazards if you require/want me to. We've been place hunting for several months now, but have had no luck. Because my wife is an American citizen their name can't be on the lease. Due to their name not being on the lease, most of the rental agencies we have talked to (Marda, Metcap, Skyline) won't include their income for the application even though they're living there, leaving just my income. Which, after the deductions due to my wife's income is between $100 and $200 a month (it fluctuates due to exchange rates). Though our actual total income is about $1100 a month. Most of the rooms we've found are for students only, or a single gender, or charge 850+ for a couple which is... out of our price range. We can afford 650+ or up to $750 all inclusive. We have a cat that acts as an emotional support animal for both of us named Six. He's an indoor cat that is litter trained, fixed, and up to date on all of his shots. At this point I'm pretty desperate. My wife has already been in the hospital due to a mental break down (a really bad ptsd episode brought on by them (the roommates) getting into a screaming match that lasted almost a week), and I'm almost completely non-functional at this point. We need someplace that is safe and hopefully quiet so we can get back to working on our health and I can get continue trying to go back to school. If you can help in any manner, it would be greatly appreciated. EDIT 1: I made an ad on Kijiji thanks to advice from one of the comments.
