When approaching a project, one aspect of tiling that takes extra care and time, is finding the layout. It’s not quite as simple as picking a pattern, and sticking the tile on. This is especially true of big projects. What do we consider when establishing the layout? The flow of the room where does the eye naturally go? Accounting for grout lines in measurements. ... The shape and size of the space will the tile cover multiple rooms or areas? Trying to ensure the pattern will flow naturally through the area. Minimizing waste are there tricky cuts? Working around toilets, tubs, plumbing, etc. Matching up corners and lines throughout the room. All of this is different in every space. The solution changes based on the shape of the tile, what material it is made out of (ie: glass vs ceramic), if the texture is smooth or irregular, the preferred pattern, and so much more. Give us some grace if we seem to be staring at your floor or walls forever it’s a process! Let us know in the comments if you learned something from this post, or have any questions. OR share a fun story from this past weekend! Our cat got sick in the bed this morning so we’ve got some extra laundry today and could use a pick me up! Hope everyone had a great Galentines, Valentines, and Family Day

Following up, it’s a desk for our office space! We debated back and forth for a long time on whether to buy or build. Very happy with how it turned out! The colour turned out beautiful after stain and varnish photos to come! In a way, we’re so spoiled by building everything custom, that shopping can be stressful now why isn’t it exactly the way I want it???
