Are you questioning whether the device you are using is Health Canada approved, there is an easy way to check. Health Canada has a website for Medical Devices Active License Listing (MDALL) a reference tool for licensed devices in Canada. I've received a number of inquiries about what we should or shouldn't be doing in medical aesthetics practices as COVID-19 cases increase. As regulated health providers our restrictions are different than those in personal service settings. It is up to us as employers to decide what protocols should be put in place to promote patient and staff safety in our clinics. After checking with my nurses at TH Medical Aesthetics - and following the provincial guidelines in Ontario - ...we have decided to double down on our already strict safety protocols. We will not be doing InstaLift, PRP, OxyGeneo, peels and laser treatments at this time. We will do lip enhancements and lower face contouring, but patients cannot be unmasked for more than 15 minutes. They will have to book two appointments if we recognize the need for additional time. These measures are in no way directives. This is just what we are doing. But it should go without saying that,at this time, strict safety measures are imperative. See more

Look at that big smile on my beautiful sister! Hard to believe Stephanie broke her leg Friday and had knee surgery Sunday. So awful .. ouch! But, trooper that she is, Stephanie is in good spirits and on the road to recovery. It'll be awhile before she is back on her feet again. Can't say this comes as a surprise .. but Kathryn Woodcock and Angela Haff are awesome! Kathryn and Angela are our expert trainers in Vancouver, and have just completed their first Foundation Course 4: Hands-on Training with three clients from B.C. Courtney, Jared and Shelby were in good hands and showed great skills in doing medical aesthetics injections. Well done all around!

What a wonderful and busy first full day we had at the new THMA Consulting training facility in Ottawa! Also coming in to the Kanata clinic for a review of past training and mentoring was Alison Girouard RN. She's with our local trainer Corey Akisanya. So happy we are now able to guide so many people in the Ottawa area along their career paths in medical aesthetics!

It's been a couple years since I first sat down with Kathryn Woodcock (left) and Angela Haff to formulate plans for expert training in medical aesthetics in Vancouver (http://bit.ly/2RYaXTI). On Saturday, those plans go into action with our first Course 4: Hands-on Training on the west coast! I'll be going out to assist Kathryn and Angela, and have no doubts these experienced nursing injectors will be awesome and their clients well trained.

Yes, we are so excited to be opening our new training facility in Ottawa. The facility at 430 Hazeldean Rd in Kanata will serve to train and mentor nurses and physicians from Eastern Ontario and Quebec. Our doors open Friday Sept. 25 when Jeanine will lead training in PRP Treatments and Deoxycholic Acid Treatments. Then we will be doing Foundation Course 4: Hands-on Training for participants who have already completed their virtual training.
