Everything is a bid for connection. Bad behavior, good behavior. Toddler antics, teenage eyerolls. Like any of us, our kids just want to be seen and heard and loved. Erica Layne #neurochild #socialconnection #kindness
Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating today.
There is no perfection in parenthood. Louder for the people in the back!! We get to be human and make mistakes. We get to lose our cool and navigate repair. W...e get to model imperfection so they know what happens next. If you weren’t perfect today, you aren’t failing. You can still foster a secure attachment. Your kiddo can know they’re safe and loved. You’ve got this and we’ve got your back on this journey. You are doing enough. Comment a below if you could use this reminder on the daily.
Dads, this is your specialty, keep it up! Moms don’t worry, there are many hidden benefits.
What a great idea!
A very creative and generous way for the members of the Redwater RCMP Detachment to engage with the youth residing in their service area. Please share with any youth you know living within the the communities listed.

UPDATE: This program has met its maximum capacity. If you’d like to be put on a cancellation list please message. There are many benefits to spending time in the kitchen with our children. Social-Emotional Development: Hands on cooking activities help children develop confidence and skill. Following recipes encourages children to be self-directed and independent, it also teaches them to follow directions and develop problem-solving skills.... Physical Development: Fine motor and eye-hand coordination skills are developing by chopping, mixing, squeezing, and spreading. Cognitive Development: Cooking encourages children’s thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It also allows children the opportunity to use the knowledge they have and apply it by counting, measuring, following a sequence, following directions, and cause and effect. Language Development: Cooking offers the opportunity to develop language development by linking it to all other areas, including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts, and Literacy. This is done by encouraging children to talk about what they are doing, counting, and watching materials change color, texture.
