I had a wonderful time working on this local species guide for Rocky Mountain School District. The guide includes cool information about birds, mammals, fish, insects, amphibians, and plants that kids may come across while exploring the Golden area. It was a pleasure to work with local teacher Sandra Beckett and award winning artist Nick Laferriere, as well as local photographers and nature experts. Had a lovely time signing books in Canmore yesterday! What I like most about book signings are all the interesting people I meet and the inspiring conversations we have. One of my most memorable chats was with a couple of teen girls who also love to write and would one day like to publish their work. A good story starts with a mind spark and these girls had several sparks going! Healthy imaginations make great writers

Sneak peak at our "Golden Area Local Species Guide"! I've had the pleasure of working with renowned illustrator, Nick Laferriere, as well as local teachers and nature experts, on creating a wonderful nature guide for grades K-7. It features common species found in the Golden area. Sections included: birds, mammals, arthropods, amphibians & reptiles, fish, trees, forbs & shrubs, fungi, moss & lichen. Release date: VERY SOON!!

Had a great time participating in Lady Grey Elementary School's Career Fair this afternoon. So many creative kids, story-tellers, writers, poets, comics, with sparkling imaginations, some had already begun to write their own books - so inspiring! Thanks for having me in, LGES
