The content in this article are disturbing in nature. A question for you, as you view this article; how did the media portray this incident? In general, was it portrayed to the reader as isolated or seemingly random event? Was there information made available in the Greater Sudbury region about women's shelters or other community resouces? On January 6th, CTV News reported that the Greater-Grand Sudbury Police had been dispatched to a residence where a 25 year-old-Woman had b...een locked/barricaded inside a room, and a 31 year-old man had started a fire else where within the home, and than left. Some, may read this article and take no second thought. You may read this article, and consider "what life she lived up until the moment the unthinkable happened and you may further consider what her life will be like today. Domestic violence/violence against women is a conversation we should all become comfortable discussing; it is a societal pandemic. We should be outraged that these situations are happening every day ... to someone you know ... maybe it's not a house fire ... it might be the yelling you hear all day and through the night at the neighbours.
