We turned ONE today! First of all, THANK YOU for an amazing year. Of all the things we planned for before opening Thrive, we certainly didn’t plan for a pandemic. Looking back at the year, we were forced to pivot in many aspects of our business. This gave us opportunities that we may not have ever received had the pandemic not happened.... If there is anything this year has taught us, it’s that we are in one of the greatest professions in the world. We get to share health and wellness with people and create healthier communities. We have an amazing team of people who show up each day to live into our mission, and we are so grateful for their presence in our lives. We have learned the art of surrender and really focused on how we can create the life of our dreams despite obstacles. We grew in ways we didn’t expect and it gave us the confidence to know that we will be a lighthouse for our community of Saskatoon for many years to come. Thank you to our patients, our teammates, our neighbours, our families, our friends, our mentors and everyone in between who made this year what it was. Sometimes I reflect on 2020 and Im reminded by how much this year has permanently changed me. . I struggle to feel the happiness I once did before all the things happened. I struggle to know the answers to questions and often find myself at a loss for words. If you know me at all this is weird because Im a chatter box. . I genuinely hate wearing a mask everyday while Im at work and all the sanitization seems extreme.... . I wonder when this will end and when we can get back to life... And then I come to work and I see my team and my community. I hear the success stories of a persons healing journey and Im reminded that even though so many things are outside of my control, the flow of adjusting people remains . . The body is designed to heal, it just needs no interference. The ability to place my hands on someones spine and help them feel and function better is one of the greatest gifts I have been given. . Those mornings are chilly the last few days and we know Fall is coming sooner then we hope for. . Taking care of our health should be a priority all year round but generally in the colder months of the year our bodies need a bit more love. We recommend the following: Supplement properly with Vitamin D3, its essential for a strong immune system.... Drink 2-3 litres of water every single day. Aim for 1 litre before noon. Move your body for 30 minutes a day in any form that you enjoy. It can be walking, running, dancing, yoga etc. Get creative. Get between 7-10 hours of sleep each night. Shift workers sleep when you can for this length of time. Take some time to reflect and write down some blessings in your life. Reduce your stress in a healthy way. It may come as a surprise that newborns would have spinal issues. When you squat so deep, your Chiro needs to take a photo But seriously her squat is so perfect Squats are a basic body movement that so many of us cannot perform properly. The benefits of performing squats regularly are: Enhancing core strength Improving digestion... Improved balance Reduces your risk of injury (especially in your lower body) Burns calories Builds muscle Improved range of motion and flexibility Aids circulation . When performing a squat you should start standing with feet a bit wider then shoulder width apart. Place your hands together in front of your chest. Engage your core and sit your bum back to 90 degrees as if you are going to sit in a chair. Keep your weight on the heels of your feet. Make sure your knees never go over your toes.
