Our Seasonal Invitational tournament was held this past Saturday and these were the results. A huge thanks to Top Link Disc Golf https://toplinkdiscgolf.com/ for topping up our merch out. I’d also like to thank all the players for a wonderful day. Can’t wait until next year when hopefully we can add to the tournament with fun games and fundraising opportunities.

So how did our boys do at Christie Lake yesterday!!!! Way to go Jacob!!!!

New course alert! We are thrilled to announce that Innova Canada and TinLid Disc Golf have just installed a new 18 hole course at Deerhurst Resort in the Muskok...a area of Ontario. The Deerhurst Lakeside Disc Golf Course will be open for play starting tomorrow, Saturday June 13, 2020. The course is pay to play for day users and guests will need to check in at the General Store in the Main Pavilion. Call 705-789-7113 ext 4325 for details. The day pass rate is $20 plus HST. The course is set up in a temporary format with Innova Discs Pro 28 DISCatchers and grass tee areas. Their are two layouts to play, both are par 54. The longer is 5200 feet. The short course is an Innova AcePlace. At 2700 feet in length this course is an 'Invitation to Play Disc Golf'. Check out https://www.innovadiscs.com/aceplace/ The course is also available on UDisc. The layouts are great fun, be ready to throw from elevations across this well manicured golf course landscape. Come for the day or book a weekend at Deerhurst Resort and throw some ACES!

Good news everyone, the course will be open to the public starting FRIDAY, JUNE 19th. The prices are the same as last year, $5 for adults, under the age of 12 children are free . Social distancing rules must be followed and all players must come to the office before they play to sign in .

Family Days hole is Hole 6. What a beauty hole. This hole has an elevated tee that . You must throw over a small pond that is directly in front of the tee. Crossing it is pretty easy, the hard part is not hyzering back into it. There is also a large pond to the right that can be a problem if you grip lock or turn something over. (How I lost my favourite disc). The red tee looks pretty straight forward . I try to flex something out straight so I don’t hyzer back into the pond ...on the left. Although it’s an ACE RUN for most I’m just trying to stay out of the water and get the par. The forehand for a righty will take out the left pond but trees make it hard go for the high hyzer so you have to keep it fairly straight. It’s very easy for the big arms to go long so remember to disc down The white and blue tees are farther right , higher and tucked in beside and behind the cabin. Most players throw out over the red tee from the whites and the blues require a straighter line off the tee that will hyzer gently back left. Oops almost forgot. This hole makes a great island hole for tournaments. I believe it was also Ryan Clare at Top Link Disc Golf’s first ACE.

We're stoked to have 83 of 120 spots already filled in the Foxwood Open:) Happy to be welcoming top Canadian talent including Martin Hendel and Thomas Gilbert, provincial champ Derek Jones, True North Disc Golf commentator Justin D. Murphy, some friends from the US including Dylan Rees and Phll Dilöé and lots more contenders! Can't wait to see who takes down the USDGC spots!

Feature hole #5. This one is trouble. Blue tee: from here the basket is a big Anhyzer (RHBH). There are trees everywhere to go around or above to a basket perched at the top of the hill. To the left of the basket at the bottom of the hill is a small pond that just loves to pull in shots that go too far or that hyzer out. White Tee: is a straighter shot but you still have a lot of trees to contend with, it is so easy to get caught up in them. Red tee: a straight shot up the hill, unfortunately it is a steep hill. Your best bet is to go between the two trees about half way, I try to keep to the right side and low so I don’t hyzer into the pond on the left. There is also a forehand line high over the pond and hyzering back toward the basket.

Hole #4 One of my favourites. So this one looks like a straight forward dogleg left. Wrong!!! Although it is a beauty of a hole. Nice wide fairway with large open green. From the blues you have to hold the long gradual BHRH hyzer line while missing the birch clump by the white tee. Whatever you do you want the land on the fairway as both left and right side rough is brutal. The white tee is shorter but basically the same line except that birch clump is just off the tee and c...an ruin your day. The guys love their sidewinders on this one. The red tee is a beauty shot that seems almost straight. A nice flex that hyzers out at the end will do the trick. That ace is possible, just listen for the chains. Once you get to the green you have lots of open shots, the only trouble is on the back side as there is one little guardian back there. See more
