Thunder in the Parkland Truck & Tractor Pulls 20.01.2021

With continuation of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Tractor Pulls.

Well we were blessed to have received some badly needed moisture. Virtually everyone was smiling as timing was getting critical. Unfortunately with the good usually comes some bad and that being said the Yorkton Hyundai’s Thunder in the Parkland Pulls has to be cancelled. We were able to run 3 classes on Friday night along with an exhibition pull with the 1924 Case steamer. The smoker tractors were ready to pull and unfortunately the rain received rendered the track unfi...t and unsafe to run. Usually with rain cancelled events the prairie Pullers are able to postpone and run on Sunday. However the forecast did not permit that. This is the first time we have ever been rained out for the entire weekend. Can we reschedule ? Well unfortunately again owing to a full season pull schedule this does not look possible this year. Again the rainfall was most welcomed but we were unable to deliver to you the fans and the sponsors what was going to be a heckuva Motorsports spectacular event. So to all the fans we thank you for your understanding. Yes some of you will be frustrated and we can appreciate that. The Yorkton Exhibition Association announced they would be dealing with refunds for Saturday. Contact them with any questions etc that you may have. We want to thank our fans for your understanding and your patience as the committee works through this. And to our sponsors non of this would even have been possible without your tremendous support. Yorkton Exhibition management will be in contact with you to discuss in more detail once they have an opportunity to review etc. And to the pullers that came from across the Prairies and the USA we thank you as well for making the trek even though we all realized what the weather forecasters were telling us. I know that everyone wanted to pull and wanted to put their pullers to the test as everyone can remember the fantastic hard biting track that Yorkton had last year. (Monte and his crew promised to make it the best again!). The PPL was going to put on an event that the fans would have been talking about for years. And then don’t forget our vintage pullers. The guys had 26 entries with more coming for Saturday. These guys have fun and it is exciting to see these vintage tractors pull. And to Daryl Kozie and Cam Wilson a couple vintage pullers a huge Thank you. While they were not hooked to a pulling sled on Saturday these fellas used their tractors to pull semis and campers out of the infield as everyone was stuck. I think they had more fun doing that then pulling the sled ! Anyhow thanks to everyone that was involved in one way or another and thank you to each and every one of you for your understandings and patience as the committee works through this event and in their attempts to make it amicable for all ! And to the fans- the PPL’s next scheduled event is July 5/6 Odessa Sask for Thunder on the Prairies. Hope to see many of you there! See more

Here is Art Bilous from Super Trax Racing in Yorkton getting ready to go for a ride with Bill Cole and his Big Red Express semi truck. Art was gracious enough to sponsor Big Red to come to Yorkton Hyundai Thunder in the Parkland. To say Art was excited is a bit of a understatement ! Thanks Art for your sponsorship of the Pulls as well

Many thanks to D Kozie with his vintage Cockshutt 1950. Not only was he there as a vintage puller he pulled many of the semis out of the pits this am. And Cam Wilson with his ole Massey helped too !
