This pandemic is escalating violence and isolation in the home. We are seeing more serious injuries and shelter hotlines are busier than ever. #enddomesticabuse #basketeersthunderbay#royallepageshelterfoundation

The pandemic has been especially difficult on women and children experiencing domestic abuse in the home. Basketeers supports women in their transition from shelters into their new lives. We also hope to educate and raise awareness to the public.

November is Women Abuse Prevention Month. The pandemic has set the stage for an increase in domestic abuse and less funding for women’s shelters. Please consider donating to our Basketeers Campaign online. Link below in comments. #basketeers #basketeersthunderbay #royallepagethunderbay #enddomesticviolence

Myself and the girls at Parlor Hair Boutique are teaming up once again for the Thunder Bay Basketeers campaign, in support of our local women's shelters. Basket...eers is an annual campaign that supports women and their families rebuild their lives free from domestic violence and abuse. Together we can help and support these women as they enter back into the community #womenhelpingwomen As most things have had to pivot this year due to COVID-19, this year's Basketeers campaign looks a little different too. To maximize everyone's safety, instead of asking donors to shop and make a basket, we are asking individuals and groups to consider making financial donationsand to let us take care of the rest! Although we may not have the joy of shopping, the gift cards will still give the recipients the new beginning they truly deserve. We hope you agree. Head over to https://royallepage.myetap.org//Basketeers2/individual.do to help us reach our goal. Don't wait, you have until Sunday, Nov 22 to get your donations in.

W s’ s ? Because he has her so brainwashed that it’s all her fault and that she’s no good to anyone and no one will want her or love her and there...’s no way she can possibly make it on her own. W s’ s ? Because she thinks that if she just tries harder and if she’s a better wife and a better mom that maybe he will be happy with her and he wouldn’t get so angry with her. And maybe he will be the same sweet, charming man that he was when they first met. W s’ s ? Because he has her convinced that if she tries he will hurt or kill her or her family. Because he has threatened to tell the judge that she is a bad mom and will take away her kids and she will never see them again. Because he has taken away her money and convinced her that she has no good job qualities to make it on her own financially and she will always need him. More people are concerned with why women stay in abusive relationships than why men are abusing women. Unless you’ve been in an abusive relationship you have no idea how hard it is to escape. Abusers are able to fool those outside the home because they usually only abuse those inside the home. We need your support. We need your love. We do not need your judgement. #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth #DVAwareness #DomesticViolenceAwareness
