NOTICE TO THUNDERBIRD FAST DRAW CLUB MEMBERS/ASSOCIATES; HAPPY NEW YEAR, FOLKS! Well, our Thunderbird Fast Draw Club is still ‘closed down’ due to the ‘Covid Controls’ that were recently announced, and it doesn’t look like we will be reopening any time prior to February 12, 2021. Langley Rod and Gun C Club has re-opened to shooting though, as long as the ‘Social Distance,’ No Gatherings, etc., Rules are followed. Masks are mandatory in some venues as well. LR&GClub still h...as it’s ‘sanitization machine’ operating -apparently the virus does not like those LED lights-nor the heat from them either! #NO FAST DRAW AT THE CLUB UNTIL HOPEFULLY, AT LEAST BY FEBRUARY 12,2021! In spite of the above, we do hope this New Year will be kinder to everyone-kinder than last year was at least.! I do have some clips-taken from my videocameras in the past-to show you. (I had taken very few still camera pics during the ‘good ol’ days] as I was usually too busy with the club and simply set up video cameras whenever I could.) Naturally, the quality of those clips will leave something to be desiredplease bear with us, as we are simply trying to keep these reports going with whatever we can during this ‘downtime’ period. On the downside I see where the new U.S President has vowed to eliminate defeat the NRA-this makes one wonder if Biden has some Canadian in him? ON the upside-for our club, a new prospective member who resides in the White Rock area, is looking for a used FD holster and a new or used Ruger SA Revolver. For a reasonable price that is. One difficulty for him is that he needs a waist size 58 rig ( right-handed .) Soo, if anyone can make this info available for him.I can put you both together. AndKaren’s ‘little’ Brother, Alan Ross, who used to shoot in our ‘Club’s Billy The Kid’ Divhasn’t lost his liking for guns any, and recently purchased a German made .45 Single Action to go along with his 2 Ruger .22’s. Al has joined the Tbirds, just to help support the club at this point. Alan has come a long way-from ‘Billy The Kid to Retitred Firefighter-CONGRATULATIONS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND THANK YOU, AL! (Wow-time sure flieslike a bullet!) Alan also purchased a holster from a company called ‘Stock and Barrel‘; https://www.stockandbarrelco.com/col/gun-belts-and-holsters This holster company also shows viewers how to make a ‘Clint Eastwood’ holster. (Which looks usable for Thumbingand now that you all have some ‘downtime‘?) Speaking of ‘downtime’, since we are strapped for ‘new news’ here, I will ask again; how about some -or all- of our members to ‘come aboard’ here, and send me some write-ups on how you found out-and when you decided to join -our Club and our Sport? And any pertaining info. So, in part, I guess we will have ‘done our bit’ as per the recent request for groups like ours to remain shut down for a two week session.
