Today marks the anniversary of the RCMP’s official creation date! On this day in 1873, the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) was created, starting with 300 offic...ers. In 1920, the NWMP was renamed to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and after years of development, now includes over 28,000 people within the organization. We can’t wait to commemorate the RCMP’s 150th anniversary in 2023 and continue to celebrate the growth and achievements since its establishment in 1873.

The countdown is on! Moraine Lake will be opening soon, tentative date is June 1st. Book your shuttle with Parks Canada to ensure you get a chance to see this beauty!
