Oliver firefighters are still on scene of a shed fire at 7600 Island Road near Wheatgrass Place. A vehicle was also destroyed in the blaze that began around 12:15 p.m. One person was taken to hospital with injuries. The cause has yet to be determined.
RCMP reviewed quarterly crime stats and the province’s 2019 Police Resources in BC report with the RDOS Thursday. With Oliver and Penticton seeing higher case loads in 2019, the area's top cop is making the case for more officers in the two communities.

Residents in the Kaleden Parks and Recreation Service Area can access elector response forms at the Regional District office or online at rdos.bc.ca or by mail, fax, or email on request. The deadline for delivering the original signed elector response form (not by fax or email) to the Regional District is 4:30 p.m. on Monday Feb. 8.
