It's Sunday, the sun is out. It feels like a day you can do whatever you want! Most summer days we hit the road and try to make the most of this very short season. Spend time lakeside or frolicking in a field. But there are those weekends where it is mandatory to stay put, clean up shop and just be still. After brunch and babies this morning, that is exactly what I am going to do. Get my house in order, so I don't feel so guilty next time we take off. Or I may just take a cue... from this kitty and laze around all afternoon. We shall see. Have a beautiful Sunday wherever the day takes you. I think it's only right to post a picture of my kitchen as I chat about my journey on insta and where it all began. If you missed my post yesterday, I reached 50 k followers and can't thank you guys enough! When we first started our renovation a year and a half ago now. A major hub we talked about would be the kitchen. Cause it truly is the heart of the home. Where most things happen and where we tend to gather, yes we like food, but then again, don't we all! My mint green fr...idge that I have talked about was the focal point and we knew we wanted to vault the ceilings. Because we needed the kitchen to play double duty. A table needed to also make its way into the the space. So I took a lot of cues from English homes...their kitchen/diner style. So after countless configurations and many arguments. We landed on what I feel to be the best layout. There was a plan to do all open shelving. But that has been put on the back burner, and we opted for closed. And I am okay with that. Maybe we will add a small floating one above the sink at some point. But being able to tuck everything away feels lovely. Anyways...this is the room that started it all, got us a lot of press and fueled "Tinyhousemama" to what it is today. We were able to do a fabulous photo shoot with @laurenkolyn for @apartmenttherapy which was a dream come true for me! So on that note have a wonderful Saturday. So a few things, the heat finally broke!!! Thank God! It was getting unbearable and kinda scary. And in the last few days I reached 50k followers!!! Shut the Front door! You guys are amazing!
