Old traditions, New standards

The Tau-Omega chapter is more than happy to announce that we have received international recognition from headquarters and have received a Top TKE award. Out of 235 active chapters, only 14 were selected to receive this prestigious award. We are proud of each brother's effort that they put into their work and are excited to see what next year will bring for us. https://www.tke.org//2018/07/23/2017-2018-tke-award-winners

Tau Omega will once again be proudly participating in the Carleton University Relay for Life event on March 9th. Everyone on our team has their own reasons for participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life, but one thing we can all agree on is that it is unacceptable that more than 221 Canadians die from cancer every single day. This year we are adding extra incentives for our friends and family to donate. As we reach our donation goals, brothers of the Tau Omeg...a chapter will participate in various activities to help promote our campaign, and show our commitment to this great cause. All donations will be generously accepted through our group page at http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLY_ON_even_

Bell Let's Talk. Thinking about the meaning behind today, I feel thankful for my fraternity, my family, and my friends. Why? They are all people who have an open ear, and an open heart when I need it. It's easy however, to feel like you're alone - to feel like you don't have anyone to confide in, or to turn to in a time of need. The reason for this is largely because of the stigma surrounding mental illness, that the Bell Let's Talk campaign is fighting against. We, Tau Kapp...a Epsilon Tau Omega, cannot express how much we support Bell's initiative. Let me take the opportunity to remind you that anxiety does not make you seen as antisocial, depression does not make you seen as weak, and mental illness does not make you seen as unwanted. The three pillars of TKE are Love, Charity, and Esteem. Love for yourself, and love for others. Not only today, but every day of the year, these are traits we strive to share not only amongst our brothers, but attitudes we wish to show the world. Among other resources that I have listed below, feel free to talk to any brother of Tau Omega in your time of need. We will show you support, and share our pillar of love when you are struggling to find it for yourself. http://www.theroyal.ca/mental-hea/mental-health-programs// The above link has just about every helpline I can think of, use it if you are ever in need - or, shoot us a message. In a group of men as diverse as TKE, at a minimum one of us will be able to relate, and all of us will be willing to help. Tell your stories, and listen to ours. Fight the stigma. For you, for us, for everyone. Help yourself, help a friend, help a stranger. #BellLetsTalk - Tau Kappa Epsilon, Tau Omega (TK338)
