Good news. The Ontario Ministry of Health and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) have given Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) permission to gradually return to work provided we adhere to new guidelines mandated by both organizations. Bottom line: you will finally be able to (re)schedule your Massage Therapy appointment.... My first week back to the office will be June 15, 2020. I will require a bit of time to obtain the protective equipment required and to do a thorough walk through of all the protocols in place for cleaning and disinfection. The fine details: - If you had an appointment booked and subsequently cancelled during the closure period I will be sending you an email so that you may be the first to book into the open schedule. - My schedule will be a bit limited as I explore the time required between patients to adhere to all disinfection protocols now required. IMPORTANT - All patients and visitors entering the office are required by the Ministry of Health to wear a clean disposable or cloth face mask and it must remain in place for the entire duration of time that you are in the office (including treatment time). -You must complete a health screen 24 hours or less prior to treatment. I may be conducting these screens via phone or electronically if I am able. If you do not complete this screening you will not be permitted to enter the office. You will be screened again when you arrive for your appointment. I am sure that I do not need to stress the importance of being completely truthful when completing this screen. -If you have any reason to suspect that you have been exposed to COVID-19 or if you feel even the slightest bit unwell, please cancel your appointment. I have always waived any cancellation fees for sickness and that will not change. I appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding as we figure out how to go forward while keeping all of us safe.

In an effort to reduce the wave of emails we are all receiving I have only sent out emails to patients that had appointments booked between today and April 6. After sending out that email, I cancelled those appointments. There is a pop up on my website that will direct you to a page which I will be updating as needed. Currently my schedule is closed to bookings until early April. Feel free to reschedule your appointment. I will be sure to email any patients affected if this continues beyond early April.

The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario has requested that we suspend all non-essential manual therapy to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19. . Brief but important information about COVID-19 (because I know you're probably getting sick of reading these things). For the time being (and until anything changes) my office remains open. As RMTs we have regulated hygiene practices that are always in effect including disinfecting surfaces (table, door knobs, light switches, lotion bottles etc) and proper hand washing protocol. I ask you to please do the following:... 1) Wash your hands frequently and properly. 2) Reschedule your appointment if you are sick. My cancellation policy has always been generous and I do not (and never will) financially penalise someone for cancelling an appointment when they or a loved one are ill). 3) Please reschedule your appointment if you have travelled outside of Canada in the last three weeks.
