A poem written by a participant in our DemoCrew program. To the ones who've lost everything The ones who are left behind and told they're worthless Scowled and glared at by those with the delusional opinion that they are worth more because they have had a simpler life ... To the ones who are not understood Or seen as human no longer To the pride that has been long forgotten And the righteousness that had been lost sight of by all of society Leaving them with no memory of the comfort they once felt To the ones who are left only with the relentless drive to survive You will be saved See more

#DemoCrewX19 reminded Rebecca of Jeremiah 29:11. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. This was Rebecca's first year at #DemoCrew and she learned a lot.... "We should spend more time with people, talking to them. Everyone has their own story." Through #DemoCrew, Rebecca learned about the struggles those experiencing homelessness face. While difficult to witness, she knows there are those who work every day to help the most vulnerable in our society. "Their story is not over yet."

Come to remember our community made in God's image who have passed away last year. They are not forgotten by God or by us.

Hi @yeg, here is a wonderful way see how Good Friday (Jesus' death) connects with justice (Jesus' life)

Here is a throwback to the day we turned 2. Back then, we were freshly planted seedlings, operating out of the Koinonia house in inner city Calgary. This house ...was all we had. We have grown a lot in the 35 years that The Mustard Seed has been around. Today, we operate services in 4 different markets: Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, and Kamloops, and we are able to support over 5,200 vulnerable individuals every year. We are able to offer safe, warm refuge for up to 486 guests every night, and are able to provide them with hot meals, clothing items, and a plethora of support services to help them get back on their feet again. The growth we have had is all thanks to people like YOU. We are so incredibly grateful for the continued financial support, volunteerism, donations, and thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your continued support over the past 35 years -- here is to the next 35!
