The Soo Valley - on a SUNDAY is best as there is no big logging trucks traffic - is a beautiful and easy cruise ebike ride on the Forestry Service Road. I only... did the first 13 km (26 round trip - I had my dog and took our time and lots of photo stops) There are a ton of roads to explore almost to the end on both sides of The Valley. I am just getting started, many more exploring trips to come in this valley. See more

Hey Vail Resorts - How about discontinuing your prohibition against any of your departments doing business with anyone other than "Vail Resorts Strategic Partners"? This practice has direct and real negative effects on local businesses and the towns where you operate. In our case we are being pushed off the table by Zorch a big American company based out of Chicago. After printing the Bike Park uniforms since the day it opened in the late-90s this year we did not get the job ...because, now, Toad Hall Studios is not a"Strategic Partner". Vail's procurement process does not allow the transaction (a transaction that has happened repeatedly between the same local entities for close to two dozen years). This year, the uniforms were printed not locally but down south somewhere. The reason we did not get this work was not a matter of price. I was told that our bid was very competitive, however the new procurement procedures dictated that we could no longer print for the bike park or any other department. This really sucks, we have been printing for "The Mountain" since the late-80s. This was a job we loved doing and we hope that Vail Resorts will reconsider its strategy to do business out of town, instead of asking if we local businesses are interested in becoming "Strategic Partners", too. Toad Hall Studios has loved printing for Dusty's, GLC, Merlin's, Showcase, Lift Ops, House, Maintenance, Ski School, Roundhouse, Rendezvous, Ski Patrol and more. We consider it being part of Whistler History. We hope to also be part of Whistler Future. So Vail Resorts, given that you are a company with a professed commitment to choosing "green" options, and to minimize your carbon-footprint, would you reconsider the criteria to be included on the "Strategic Partners" list? We are not asking for anything more than the opportunity to bid, and get a fair shot, at doing some business with you. We all win that way... you, the environment and us. Lets go play outside! Love and Sunshine to you all! Jorge Alvarez - Toad Hall Studios
