Yay the fire department is going to be making some noise July 1st. Give them a wave in true Canadian fashion.
Sorry to see this announcement but not surprised. Covid 19 is forcing some difficult decision to be made to keep the public safe.
Here's a great program being offered through our district Recreation Association. Oh yes and the best part. FREE!!
Today's fun fact. The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo began as the Sutherland Forest Nursery Station and operated from 1913 to 1966. Over the span of 50 years the nursery shipped 147 million trees across the northern part of the Prairie Provinces! When the nursery station shut down in 1966, the City of Saskatoon reopened part of it as the Forestry Farm Park. The zoo was added in 1972, and in 1990 it was designated a National Historic Site.
Today's fun fact; Purple Sand Beaches. Saskatchewan is home to multiple purple sand beaches, including Hunter Bay, Candle Lake, and Prince Albert National Park. Purple Sand beaches are fairly uncommon worldwide, so it's saying something that Saskatchewan has more than one of them!
