A big part of why I design is to give back to my community. This Christmas it was importation to me...even more then ever to give back. The half way point of this temultuous year brought together a small handful of creatives. Together...even remotely, we shared our passions in our specific fields to create a bigger picture. @matthewyip.yyc & @josainis.photographer captured the beauty of @nicolel291 who brought my clothing to life. . . .... This published series in @elegantmagazine shows that creatives need each other to achieve our expression. We are all too familiar with pivoting our focus....so the current situation is kind of the norm for us. . . . We know the importance of 'being there' for each other. I think it reflects what we need more of right now in this world. . . . We need to support one another, be kind, be open minded and be ready to grow. I took on the task of spray painting my mannequins. I now how a new found respect for professional painters of any kind...especially graffiti artists (which I completely respected before). . . . I don't want to think of how much of this metallic paint I inhaled even with a mask!... . . . But they're beautiful and it was worth all the hours to prefect their 18 body parts. . . . I've always loved beautiful mannequins (but not those creapy vintage ones ). . . . Clothing rarely looks good on a hanger, and the mannequin gives more context to the look of clothing. . . .
