This Sunday- FREE! Tenant Education Workshop Sunday November 3rd from 4 pm to 6 pm Tofino Theatre 380 Campbell Street... Join the Tenants Resource Advisory Centre (TRAC) for a FREE, informative two hour workshop on residential tenancies. The workshop features a plain language PowerPoint presentation, Q&A period, and hardcopy publication distribution. Participants are also educated on how to access TRAC’s other services, such as TRAC’s Tenant Infoline (1-800-665-1185), website and online course Renting It Right. The workshop will include information on: -rights and responsibilities -tenant or roommate? -security deposits -rental agreements -repairs & evictions TRAC’s purpose is to promote the legal protection of residential tenants across British Columbia by providing information, education, support and research on residential tenancy matters. The workshop is open to all, and it’s a great opportunity for renters, rental advocates, and all others to learn more about rights and responsibilities. COPIES OF OPEN HOUSE MATERIALS AVAILABLE NOW: https://bit.ly/2nKBB6Z The Tofino Housing Corporation is about to launch the rezoning process for the DL 114 Phase 1 development site in partnership with the Catalyst Community Developments Society. Catalyst is an experienced not-for-profit developer, owner and operator of affordable rental housing and community spaces with over 10 projects in operation or development across southern BC. In addition to our partnership with them on DL114, they will also be the developer and operator of the Sharp Road housing in Tofino (learn more about Catalyst here: https://catalystcommdev.org). You may have seen early concept plans of the DL 114 Phase 1 project and the design has evolved to 72 below-market rental housing apartment units in two separate buildings and 6 duplex units, which may be market housing or affordable homeownership housing. In advance of taking a rezoning application to the District of Tofino, Catalyst and THC would like to invite you to review the proposal, answer any questions and hear your feedback.
