As we get older balance and strength tend to decline. However, this process can be slowed by.......exercise! Here are few to keep you going while at home..... Remember..... just keep moving!
For all of you out there that were wondering "What happens when you crack your joints?" The good news....... Studies have shown that joint cracking does not cause or lead to arthritis
Do you have a pain that gets better with rest....but once you restart activity ....the pain returns? You may not be loading the tissue enough to promote healing. Rest does NOT help increase the tolerance of the tissue to load! So what's the answer?????? Exercise! ... But if it hurts when you exercise this is a good guide line to know you are exercising the right amount (not to little, or to much)...... Guideline - see picture below
Is this movement bad for your back? Can this damage your discs? No.. :)... There are a lot of examples of people who have gone back to doing the very things they’re being told they can’t do. :) There is a lot of fear about the structure of the spine. They have been told to be careful with their backs and have the fear to do harm. We know that fear is a huge driver of abnormal pain behaviour. We can TRUST our back and shouldn't be feared. It is a ROBUST, STRONG structure. Often with disabling back pain, the motor systems are overactive, hypersensitive. The muscles are GUARDING the back TOO MUCH. That can be driven by habits of movements, habits of posture, fear, anxiety, stress, or just the presence of pain and you developed a protective guarding response.

Part of having a strong, healthy and injury free body is eating well..... BUT what does that mean???? Yes...t is true that diet and healthy eating advice changes all the time. ... So here are a few guidelines: - Eat in moderation (go ahead and eat some chocolate...just don't eat the whole bar!) - Don't eat to much or too little .... eat enough for your body! - Enjoy variety (this will help getting all the essential nutrients) - Eat clean/natural.....know the ingredients you are putting into your body. Limit shopping in the aisles at the grocery store.
