Super cool 3D Motion Graphic piece for Microsoft's vision. I LOVE their use of light refracting pearlescent textures combined with clean minimalism, and pushing visuals of "fluid interaction" throughout the journey. Samsung has been interested in such textures [on a physical level] as well, and Apple has touched on it with desktop backgrounds, so I anticipate we'll be seeing much more of this trend in the future... or at least I hope so! :)

The Problem... I recently caught wind of a Yoga instructor whose classes were sacrificed due to COVID-19... her participants [who were mostly either elderly or disabled/injured] were devastated. My Solution? 1. A frank conversation about the target market, and the technical tools/options we can use TODAY to form a sustainable service in both the short AND long-term.... 2. Start crafting the "product" during the conversation (without any expectations of payment or reciprocation). In other words... "#InstantEmpowerment" to create immediate tangible momentum. The Outcome. We established a specific target audience, a description [of the service], a set of goals, a name, and created a Facebook page. Since then, I put together a few options for a logo and background image. The focus here is on balancing the following variables: - production speed, - visual clarity, - aesthetic professionalism, & - opportunity for future expansion or iteration. Perfection is not the goal at this stage, given that we don't want to obsess over the details at the expense of actionable progress. Take look, and [as always] feel free to comment!

Sometimes I randomly decide to make unsolicited artwork; today's victim was a Meetup.com group called "Durham Football Club" ... So Sad... let's all cry for them. :) Anyway... ... feel free to drop comments or feedback accordingly. NOTE: I've also added the original image as a reference point.... Made with in Photoshop. (Back to the Batcave I go... Bye-bye! )

I don't know what ultimately happened to these guys (because they all went on totally different paths after university), and even though I wasn't supposed to have fave's when I was a technician for visual radio broadcasts... they were definitely totally one of my faves. These guys where smart, conceited, argumentative, and basically the kind of people you need to have discussions with at least once every week to keep you on your toes; I loved them. NOTES: - In the final output of this video, the intro was designed to slowly merge with their camera feed(s)/video footage rather than me (I just used an image of myself as a placeholder for visual reference purposes). - The final bit of text in the video was to be a mock episode title.

That silly moment when you work on something for a while only to realize later that another [much simpler] idea might work... *facepalm*. Guess who just re-made the Avengers logo for [potentially] no reason... lol.

I don't normally post pictures of myself on this page, but when I do, it's because I want to show off how awesome OTHER people are! [Yes, that's a Dos Equis reference] Special Thanks go to Figaro Toronto Hair & Beauty Salon for the amazing haircut and colouring job, and my sister, Stephanie Langzik* for the great photo/shot.... [*Steph doesn't have her own site yet because she can't figure out what she wants the name to be, but I'll update this post when the opportunity presents itself] :)

Unfortunately I couldn't re-upload my fixed entries on the Epica Wines label contest web-page, but here they are anyway [for your viewing pleasure]. :)

I made this silly graphic the other day for a friend of mine; I doubt anyone will find a use for it, but hey... just in case... here it is, free in full 1080p HD! :)

Fascinating and incredibly relevant to any individual(s) and group(s) in fields that communicate information of any sort to a larger audience.

The role design had in our lives is changing; it's super interesting to have it all layed out like this (short, simple, concise).

A few people have seen me wear this knot and loved it, so here's some How-To's for those of you who like looking unique; feel free to share this with anyone who might be interested. :)

Google's "Digital Ecosystem" release plans for this year... jaw-dropping. Here are some of the links mentioned in the keynote video presentation: http://www.polymer-project.org/ http://www.google.com/design/ http://www.google.com/tv/ http://chromecast.com/apps

I recently put together a secret surprise video for a family whose son graduated Medical School and attained a job as a Neurosurgeon in Ottawa after a difficult start in life battling leukemia. There was no quality control, very little creative direction, only trust; when the day finally came, I was terrified and literally trembling as the video was finally presented in front of his family & friends. In 20 minutes, I took everyone in the room on a journey where-in-which they laughed, cried, and laughed again; it was a powerful experience, reminding me that how important it is for artists to actively share their abilities in an effort to communicate things that trump monetary incentives. I think that what we do with our talents covertly guides the future by way of guiding emotion, and so it is imperative that we design responsibly.
