I was reminded this past weekend while reading an article on the Financial Post how the needs of Home Buyers has changed since we entered into a pandemic. Spending more time at home changes what people value. Along with our increased need to feel safe, a home now needs to incorporate multi-functionality into its' rooms. As Conrad Zurini, Broker at RE/MAX Escarpment in Hamilton stated, " , , , - ... ." A living room can also accommodate a space for a home office for instance. The dining room can still be a place to entertain family and close friends and also serve as a classroom by day. Although gyms have reopened in Waterloo Region, the closure earlier in the pandemic caused people to re-examine how safe they feel working out at a fitness facility with people they don't know. Many people have put their gym memberships on hold and are now working out at home. This is another example for the need of multi-functionality of space as more and more people create a workout space in their homes.
