Caution! Washout on the big hill on the 24 Sideroad section of the Tom Thomson Trail.
Our Tom Thomson Trail website has a new look: http://www.tomthomsontrail.com/
Volunteers for the Tom Thomson Trail met at the Grey Road 112 Kiosk to do a socially distanced hike down to the creek and back. We were treated to a new alternate side trail that meanders along the hillside giving a whole new perspective of the area.
Trail Damage! The combination of high water levels on Georgian Bay and recent storms, the paved section of trail along the waters edge in Owen Sound has damage and part of the asphalt has broken away. There is also rubble on the pavement. Also, Heavy rain has created washouts and ruts on downhill sections of the trail. One area to be aware of in the hill on the 24 Sideroad section. The south side of the trail has deep ruts. Take care!
Whipper-snipping day on the Tom Thomson Trail. Finally got the benches cleared of tall grass so people can sit on them... then I went for a dip in the bay to cool down.
Mowed the Tom Thomson Trail today. Now you can see the bench.
Great day for a walk
Ride along the Tom Thomson Trail today to check how things look... all is well, plus no bugs!

With all the rain we have been having there were a number of washouts on the trail. We have now built up the trouble spots with concrete hoping this will solve the issue. In the mean time, please cross the new concrete with caution.
