A lot of people are asking me for my wooden pictures but I don’t have any right now The closest thing I have is a few small matted prints and some cards. If you see anything you want just message me for pick up or you can wear a mask and come in to the shop and have a look. Open today til 5. Sunday open anytime after 1 o’clock . One bubble at a time !

This is Lupin our pet bunny. She’s not usually allowed in the art shop but she loves it. Honey’s Bunnies Rabbit Rescue is right across the street from us here in Seaforth. If you’d like to be a bunny foster or owner, check them out. Bunnies are awesome

Just realized I didn’t show you all this sign I made, which will hang in place of our shop sign for the next little while. I’m still making art of course but selling it is kind of tricky right now. Dr. Strang asked us not to sell stuff (non essentials) from our homes even if it is contactless front doorstep pick up. I also don’t want to be going to the post office. I just want to stay the blazes home and not do anything that encourages others to leave home. Right? However, if you see anything that I post that you are interested in just let me know and of course we can arrange something when things are back on track in the world. I’m like a kid in a candy store right now! I was asked to make some Christmas cards with my ornament designs. This is so fun! I’ll have these at the Seaforth Market tomorrow and Sunday. Ok...gotta go get back to making some more...almost midnight now! See ya tomorrow I hope #seasidechristmas

SOLD. I wasn’t really planning on opening the shop today but then I did and 5 minutes later somebody came by and purchased this original painting. So...yay I know I’ve said this before but I’m saying it again since today is Thanksgiving. Darn right I’m thankful! For me, not a day goes by that I don’t think of how thankful I am to be able to make a living this way. Selling my art and all the things I make. I remember way back in my 20’s when this life was just an unat...tainable dream. I used to drive out here to the beach with my dog all the time and fantasize about living out here... and being an artist with a little house by the ocean. Well here I am. Living the life I’d always imagined. Dreams really do come true sometimes Anyway! Yes...thankful! That is the point of this post. Thankful to all of you who stop by or spread the word about Krooked House. Ok...just getting the shop back in order after the amazing Surfside Studio Tour last Sunday! What a blast! I am glad this has become a yearly tradition. Sold two original paintings and a whole bunch of other stuff...thanks to all of you who stopped in and anyone who spread the news about the tour. THANK YOU!!! BTW...I saw a lot of people taking selfies with our ocean view in the background. Show me! Tag us if you have any pics...or any pics from along the tour at all. Would love to see them. SOLD.I got a lot of sun at the beach today so I thought I’d model this necklace that I made. Looks so good with a tan...it glows! Hand made of wood, acrylic paint. Little starfish made of wood too. $28 (*same necklace in both pics..just different lighting)

SOLD. Did a bit of research for this one called Living by the Sword. The fish with the big fin is a Sailfish and you have to go a bit further south to get those. The other one is a Swordfish and they fish for those off the coast of Nova Scotia. I even saw a harpoon boat which is used for sword fishing in a fishing village close to where I live. The swordfish are huge...can be over 1000 pounds. The sailfish are the fastest swimming fish in the ocean. Hmmph! Interesting. Anyway...I just did them because I think they are beautiful but it was a learning experience for me. Original for sale. Prints and cards soon

Well since this is our busy wholesale order filling time and I don’t have much new to show you...I thought I’d show you my little nieces art. She was sitting there sketching us yesterday and we didn’t even know! Thanks Olivia...maybe you can join the Krooked House team someday

Hey artist friends, or anyone looking for hand made wooden frames...I picked this one up just up the road at freddies.workshop in Chezzetcook. Here’s a pic of some other frames he has and his price list. Awesome frames and prices! He is not on fb though but you can write to him on Instagram @freddies.workshop. if you go there you will also see some of his other amazing creations including a wind chime made from old drill bits and a cheese grater. (SOLD) A Mind of Winter....a line from a poem that I heard which made me practically run into my workshop to make something winter-y....and this is what I came up with. You never know where inspiration will come from. 13.5 x 11.5 inches. Driftwood, plywood, and beach glass for the ice. ....and for anyone who is interested, here is the rest of that poem. The Snow Man...by Wallace Stevens One must have a mind of winter To regard the frost and the boughs ... Of the pine-trees crusted with snow; And have been cold a long time To behold the junipers shagged with ice, The spruces rough in the distant glitter Of the January sun; and not to think Of any misery in the sound of the wind, In the sound of a few leaves, Which is the sound of the land Full of the same wind That is blowing in the same bare place For the listener, who listens in the snow And, nothing himself, beholds Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is.

UPDATE! Today was so busy that we have decided to open tomorrow(Christmas Eve) as well from 1-4. Our very last day open for the season WAH!!! I don’t want it to be over! These past few weeks have been a blast as always when we open the shop at Christmas. What a gorgeous day out there and the waves are huge! A nice day for a drive out this way. Merry Christmas everyone! (open til 4)

I thought it was very cool that somebody bought a bunch of my Snowy cards to send out as their Christmas card this year. Highway 357 to Middle Musquodoboit always makes me want to build a little cabin somewhere with a wood stove. I’ll be driving up that highway this weekend to the Festival of Trees and Crafts. LOL. Having flashbacks to the amazing Surfside Studio Tour yesterday. At one point someone handed me a cell phone so the person on the other end could describe a certain picture they wanted. The shop was loud and busy and I could hardly hear the person and I couldn’t quite figure out what picture they meant...I deduced it must have been a one of a kind that I did. HOWEVER! Things are much quieter now if that person wants to write or call me again. I am much less frazzled now so I might be able to figure it out! Someone asked me the other day if the seasons influence what I paint. Yes! Do they ever!!! Most of what I do is inspired by what I see going on around here....like these sunflowers blooming in my yard. Made me want to finish this little sunflower painting (* just ignore my thumb in bottom corner of painting pic. Oops )

HELLOOOOO! Hi! I just had to come on here and say hello even though I don’t have anything new to show you I just haven’t been on here all summer and I’m missing everyone! Wow. What a crazy busy summer eh? Are you all feeling it too? I am not complaining but I just haven’t had time to finish any new paintings and it is killing me! Great to be kept busy but then the summer goes by way too fast. I am trying to hold on to it though. Trying to get out for a swim eve...ry chance I get....even if it’s only for a few minutes a day. Anyway...just wanted to check in and say hi and I hope you’re all having a great summer and enjoying every last drop of it. Based on a true story. Lol. Our neighbours have a whole buncha roosters. Sometimes they wander over here and they are hilarious! The black bunny started visiting recently too so I had to get him in there of course. This painting will be at the Old School Art Gallery community show in Musquodoboit for most of the summer. I’ll have some prints and cards soon too
