Thank you to everyone who logged in for our virtual AGM, we were happy to see you! We hope you enjoyed it too. It was encouraging to see so many people apply to the board. Although not everyone could formally join the board, we will certainly be tapping into the extra help throughout the year.

We often hear about the lengthy delays in dealing with land managers to get building approval on trails. While this can be the case when trying to establish S56 or 57 agreements, once these are in place, the process can be very quick! Recently, Jon Keen the local builder of a S56 trail wanted to add a new technical trail feature. Thanks to his excellent 7 page proposal and a swift response from our RSTBC Rec Tech and Rec Officer, TORCA received approval in less than 2 DAYS! Thanks to everyone involved and we all hope you enjoy this new optional TTF on Hammertime.

Even though the sun is forecast to shine tomorrow, it doesn’t mean that all trails will be ready to ride. Many local trails received snow this week, as well as 70mm of rain in the last 24 hours. This creates a situation of saturation on some trails, making them very vulnerable to damage. It’s also a good time to give trails with new trail work a break; they need time and some dry weather cycles for fresh work to bed in. Please make good choices this weekend and help keep o...ur trails in great shape! If you want to learn more about riding in the wet, check out the guide on our website https://torca.ca//riding-in-the-wet-a-guide-to-responsibl/

Trail crew update! If you’ve been on Eagle Mountain over the last month, you will have noticed the new optional feature at the start of Manhandler, extension of Shock Therapy to the new Manhandler entrance, rerouting and extra corners added to the lower part of More Therapy, minor reroute on Physiotherapy, more trail bed work on Manhandler and Three Little Pigs; adding fun and flow, while creating a more sustainable trail bed with better drainage. Thank you Brendan, Cam, Malcolm and Milton for all your hard work!

We wanted to give a shout out to POCO Building Supplies for giving us a smokin deal on steel spikes. Money saved buying these supplies will go right back to the trails. We are so grateful for your support!
