The Saturday Night Report: Today Pastor Andrew and Pastor Bill handed out lunches to about 75 plus people. Many stories were shared by those who received a lunch, food from the food bank... whatever was needed. To have someone listen well really helps people know that they indeed matter. Bill told me about one fellow who he knows well who had been sober for months. Today he came and was all beat up, his feet were swollen and he had no shoes. He bent his head in utter shame for his failure to stay sober. Bill listened and was able to give him a bag lunch, shoes, socks, and most importantly remind him of God's great love and mercy. The fellow asked Bill to please pray for him and as he did, the tears fell down the fellows' cheeks as the love of God wrapped around him like a blanket.
