Being forced to stay home and not socialize outside of the home has been hard for many. Our children have been expected to act as if everything is fine, which has not been an easy task for them! Distance learning is not the same as being at school with friends and learning materials!

A friendly reminder to all parents: Please look after your mental health, and the mental health of your family first! Use this time to bond with your children with love, instead of focusing on missed academic sessions. Day to day life-skills at home are part of the Montessori curriculum. Happy International Women's Day!! . We are thrilled to announce that Maria Montessori was named one of the 100 Women of the Year, in TIME’s list of the most influential women of the past century. She was on the cover of this week’s Time Magazine! The cover was inspired by the February issue of 1930. Back then, 90 years ago, TIME chose a similar cover to honour Maria Montessori. . .... Have questions or concerns about wearing masks as a form of novel coronavirus prevention? Yesterday, Dr. Theresa Tam, the chief public health officer of Canada,... cautioned of the risks of the general public wearing masks when they’re not ill. She advised that wearing masks when you’re well is not an effective measure. Sometimes it can actually present some risks, as you’re putting your fingers up and down on your face, removing your mask and putting them next to your eyes. There are preventative measures listed on York.ca/coronavirus and ontario.ca/coronavirus - both are updated regularly.
