Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto and Buddha’s Light International Association Fundraiser in support of The Mississauga Food Bank Even during the best of times, neighbours living with a low-income struggle to afford all of their necessities. Emergencieslike the COVID-19 pandemicput unimaginable stress on already tight budgets. During this difficult time, The Mississauga Food Bank is working hard to ensure those living in poverty or whose financial circumstances have ab...ruptly changed can access healthy and nutritious food. We believe that if we come together, we can raise critical funds to support the food bank during this time of need. Our gift will make it possible for The Mississauga Food Bank to distribute emergency bags, consisting of nonperishable goods, fresh food and produce, personal care items, and essentials like baby formula, and diapers. You can make donations online or drop-off any non-perishable food items at the collection boxes outside Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto front entrance every day before 3pm, except Monday until October 18. Any amount of donation made online, the tax receipt will be issued directly by Mississauga Food Bank. Click below to learn more on how to make donation online. While we share and learn from Buddha, BLIA Toronto members have a vision to share Dharma messages through the virtual world. Dharma Verse is a project launched by Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto and co-organized by Toronto Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) Radiance subchapter and BLIA Toronto YAD (Young Adult Division) to continue to share the dharma with the community. We will publish YouTube videos of members reading Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s Engli...sh dharma verses from a few of his book. These passages will be accompanied by artwork by Radiance, YAD, and other community members. To celebrate Venerable Master Hsing Yun's birthday (September 9), we launch the first episode of "Dharma Verse" today! There will be new episodes every Wednesday on the Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto YouTube channel. We are excited to finally share this project with you! "Beyond the distance, connecting our hearts, moving forward with faith." The 2020 International Buddha's Light Young Adult Conference was held on August 1st at 11 am (GMT +8). Nearly 800 youths from 23 countries on 5 continents who participated in the online conference by using ZOOM. Venerable Hui Chuan, the chief executive of BLIA-YAD World Headquarters, served as the chairman and Venerable Tzu Jung, the deputy president of BLIA World Headquarters, joined the conference together to be concerned about the youths. This year, with the theme of "Faith and Legacy", the conference used several online interactive software to discuss Humanistic Buddhism and learn together as well as breaking down the distance and language barriers. #2020IBLYAC #BLIAYAD # #YADSORAD #
