Its the 10th anniversary of the most unique and boutique run in Canada, the 5k Run and Party December 31st in Liberty Village. Its a small event that has a big... heart and has been on many runner' and fitness enthusiasts bucket lists for years. The media have loved covering this event and our participants went out in the rain and record freezing temperatures to start their New Year's Eve resolutions in the toughest conditions imagineable. There was beer and champagne at the finish line though! And fireworks to put everyone in the mood. In 2021 it has to be different, sadly as it is. So we are offering some virtual options and 30-day volume and coaching opportunites for those really looking for a complete re-set as we leave the memories of 2020 behind us and start FRESH in the new year. If isolation and the pandemic has gotten you down lets all work together to start fresh and vibrant with clear, simple goals for the New Year. You can eat better. You can sleep more. You can get fitter, lose weight or de-connect from technology and learn to enjoy life as much as possible. It may sound crazy but anything is possible and if we can make it through these tough times coming up especially our Canadian winters the reward at the end is worth it.

Good Times Running started 10 years ago producing the unique, boutique and VERY difficult Midnite Run Toronto on New Year's Eve in Liberty Village. It would have been ten years this year a major milestone for any event let alone an extremely difficult one to execute logistically. Welcome back another year as a major sponsor, the Liberty Village BIA. Thank you!... The Midnight Run and Party started 10 years ago with the direct and key support of the BIA and we never looked back, hosting our event with many different local businesses in Liberty Market and outside. Danceology, Liberty Market Building, Pizzaville, Liberty Market Cafe', Stay Gold Gym, Brazen Head Pub, Liberty Organics, Liberty Commons, Aroma Cafe', the first year in the huge Liberty Gym now long since closed. Celebrate Liberty Village businesses by shopping local! The Liberty Village BIA’s Holiday bonus e-Gift card is a virtual gift card which automatically gives you an extra 25% on the amount that you purchase to spend at participating businesses in Liberty Village. For example, if you purchase a $100 e-gift card, with the 25% bonus, you will now have $125 to spend! This is a great way to show your support to us, and the many other local businesses that have been greatly impacted during COVID-19. For the most up to date list of businesses that are participating and for more information on the program, please visit www.LibertyVillageBIA.com/giftcard. This list is constantly changing as new businesses sign-up so be sure to check back often! You can purchase an e-Gift card at www.anycard.ca/store/libertyvillage or www.LibertyVillageBIA.com/giftcard #ShopSmall #ShopLocal #SupportSmallBusiness #libertyvillage #nyeve2020 #virtualraces2020 #newyear2021 #runnersofinstagram #shoplocalthischristmas #goodtimesrunning #nyeverun #resolutions2020 #resolutions2021 #ResolutionRun #midniteruntoronto #virtualnyeve

Happy #MotivationMonday Everyone! Heres the story of Belgium native Karel Sabbe Ultrarunning. Karel broke the Backyard Ultra Running Challenge Record within 75 ...hours of running. The Backyard Ultra consists of runners completing a 4.166667-mile trail loop every hour until one person, or no one remains. It was surely not easy for Karel, as the fatigue quickly got to him and he struggled with getting rest. His Solution? Get some sleep while he still ran! As I approached camp for that hour, I tried to give into sleep deprivation, so what I did was when I approached camp, I’d turn my headlamp to the lowest setting, and walk with my eyes closed for five to six minutes, and I’d feel the sleep coming, he said. By the time I got to camp, I was 20 meters to a bed and by the time I got there, I was in sleep mode. Of course due to the pandemic, there were some changes to the challenge as after announcing their curfew, the race trail was shrunk from a 6.7K loop to a 1K loop to be ran seven times. After a lengthy 3 day running process, Karel completed the challenge of running 312 miles (502 Km) in 75 hours. This story shows that even in times of uncertainty and challenging times, persistance and creativity always pays off! If you face a hurdle, you can find ways around it and come out of it even stronger! Who knows, you may even find yourself having a story written about you! We encourage everyone to pick a fitness challenge or goal they have in mind and remember to never give up! We all are running race of our own, and we all can reach our finish line one way or another! Have a safe and active Monday everyone! Lets go out there and start this week fresh! One more day ! Start planning now. Get the name, email and contact phone numbers of your local MP. Put a list together of your all time favourite races and if... they are local to you remind your local MP how important this race or event is to your community, to you, your friends, a local charity that may generate fundraising from this event, etc. Contact any and all race organizations you know and remind them of this big day, make sure they joined the Canadian Endurance Sports Alliance. (It's free to be a member and very nominal to join and lend support to CESA as they lobby the government for specific industry related support). Post your favorite race finish line photos on this day on all your social platforms! Remind any friends, family members or coworkers to do the same. Have fun Wednesday and think of this amazing industry and how troubled the future will be without more support now and in future for our Rage and Events Industry. #endurancesports #supportsmallbusiness #supportcharity #smallbusiness #racesandevents #eventplanning #eventsfun #runnershelpingrunners #triathlon #obstacleraces #cycling #sportsindustry #runnershelpingrunners #eventsmarketing
